Jess Franco, the enfant terrible of European exploitation cinema, created one of his most personal and controversial works with *Demoniac* (also known as *Exorcism*, etc.). The film – a blend of sexploitation, splatter, and blasphemous reckoning with the Church – remains a prime example of Franco's scandalously brilliant style.
