Christina Lindberg (Thriller – a Cruel Picture) is Anita, a teenage nymphomaniac who feels compelled to have sex with every man she meets – from young guys to “dirty old men”. She stumbles on psychology student Stellan Skarsgård (a long time before Pirates of the Caribbean, Avengers, Dune and Star Wars: Andor) who tries to cure her. A sexploitation classic using a sexual problem, in this case nymphomania, as a “serious” pretext for some titillating nudity. The inspiration for Lars von Trier's Nymphomaniac, where Skarsgård plays a psychiatrist against Charlotte Gainsbourg’s troubled character? The film was digitally restored by the Swedish Film Institute film archive.
